What We Do
Aethara transforms children's drawings into cinema-quality animated characters. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
When you place an order: your name and email address, shipping address (Full Bundle only), payment information processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number, a photograph of your child's drawing, and the child's first name used only to name the character.
When you sign up for updates: your first name and email address. Automatically: basic site analytics (pages visited, device type, browser) to improve the website experience.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and deliver your animated character, process payments via Stripe, ship physical stickers for Full Bundle orders, send updates if you opted in to our mailing list, and respond to questions at hello@aethara.com. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Ever.
Children's Privacy
Aethara is a service purchased by parents and guardians on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The only information related to a child is their first name and their drawing, both provided by the parent or guardian. Drawings are used solely to create the ordered character and are not shared publicly without the parent's permission.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted services to operate: Stripe for payment processing (stripe.com/privacy), Framer for website hosting, and Google for email capture and site analytics. These services may collect limited technical data such as IP address as part of their normal operation.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for the website to function. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Data Retention
Order data including drawings, character files, and contact info is retained for the duration of our business relationship and as needed for customer support. Email list data is retained until you unsubscribe. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@aethara.com.
Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion of your data, and unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@aethara.com.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. We do not store credit card information on our servers.
